A San Diego hospital is seeking a bilingual Patient Access Rep II for the Central Authorization Department.

Responsibilities

·          Commercial PPO, HMO, CCS experience with: obtaining authorizations, claims auditing from the insurance/payer side of things

·          Must be patient and have excellent customer service because they will be calling families obtaining corrected information and discussing issues regarding insurance coverage.

·          Someone who works well as a team member and willing to go the extra mile.

·          In a team environment secures and provides appropriate information to patient families and funding sources to register, schedule and/or obtain authorizations for inpatient, outpatient and/or diagnostic services.

Qualifications

·          Bi-lingual (Spanish)

·          High School diploma, GED, or Foreign equivalent

·          Demonstrated customer service skills to include ability to develop immediate rapport with a variety of customers of all different socio-economic, cultural and economic groups both internally and externally

·          Knowledge of basic functionality of personal computer/medical terminology

·          Ability to type and perform data entry functions at a level needed to maintain productivity standards of area/department
